10 x 18 / Collage, Marbling, Graphite, Poster Color
Inspired by the flashy district near my house, I drew a street with Graphite, painted it with the Marbling technique, then cut certain parts to accentuate the contrast.

8.5 x 5.5 / Collage, Marbling, Oil pastel,
I wanted to depict how, in certain situations, we are obliged to hide our feelings. I created this face with Oil pastel, representing depression, then partially covered it with papers painted with the Marbling technique.

5.5 x 8.5 / Collage, Marbling, Marker, Graphite
I drew the figures with pencil and marker, cut them out, and put them on an ominous paper painted with red ink using the Marbling technique. It depicts how often the environment, looming in the background, sometimes forces us to move as we're robots against our will.

8.5 x 5.5 / Poster Color, Pen, Graphite
I contrasted the colorful bands painted with Poster Color obscuring the dark image of myself drawn in pen.

8.5 x 5.5 / Collage, Marbling, Graphite, Poster Color
Based on a photo of myself, I drew a self-portrait with Graphite. Then, I cut parts of it out and collaged it with a background created with the Marbling technique, resembling a shimmer.

8.5 x 5.5 / Collage, Marbling, Graphite, Pen
I depicted myself reaching out for something: it was drawn with Graphite and then pasted to a background paper made with the Marbling technique representing the abyssal space.

8.5 x 5.5 / Collage, Marbling, Pen, Marker, Graphite
The figure was done with marker, cut out, then pasted onto a scene at a metro station with an abstruse crevasse done with the Marbling technique. It is trying to show the moment of "leaping over the gap" and taking the dare.

8.5 x 5.5 / Graphite
The figure and hand were drawn with graphite. They depict the process of finding more and more of my identity. The piece held in the hand is presumably a part of oneself that was just discovered.

8.5 x 5.5 / Collage, Marbling, Graphite, Poster Color
I used my notes for the World History class as the thought bubbles, then pasted what I think about the most (Star Wars, Rock, Bowie, Fantastical ideas (represented by Minmi, my favorite dino), and Emily) along with my portrait on them.

8.5 x 5.5 / Collage, Poster Color, Marker
My face and hands are positioned as an homage to Bowie’s ‘Heroes.’ They are placed on top of a collage of criticisms, representing my courage to stick out despite being surrounded by the often critical and judgmental environment.

14 x 8 / Graphite, Various types of Paper, Poster Color
It represents how music can stimulate an explosive reaction for me, shown by air guitar hand poses. I drew hands on various papers and pasted them in a spreading fashion with an ear in the middle.
